Sport Chalet Hosting 2nd Annual Underwater Treasure Hunt

Date  : June 30, 2011

Sport Chalet, Inc., in cooperation with TUSA, Aqua Lung, Body Glove, Mares, Sherwood, Pelican and Sea Pearls, invites scuba divers to find one of six sunken treasure bars valued at (1) $5,000, (2) $3,000 and (3) $1,000 in Sport Chalet Gift Cards, during the 2nd annual treasure hunt. The contest ends July 24, 2011.

The 2nd Annual Sport Chalet Treasure Hunt provides an expanded opportunity for more divers to find riches with six gold painted treasure bars sunken somewhere off the Northern and Southern California Coasts, and in Arizona. Clues to find the treasure are being posted every Tuesday and Thursday in the scuba department at Sport Chalet dive center locations, on-line at www.sportchalet.com, and on the Sport Chalet Facebook and Twitter pages.

Once found, the treasure bars are clearly marked with instructions to bring the bar to any local Sport Chalet store to claim the Treasure Hunter's reward. Only one prize may be won per person. Each treasure bar has a different prize value. Depending on the bar found, the prize awarded will be a $5,000, $3,000, or $1,000 Sport Chalet Gift Card. For safety reasons, divers must be at least Open Water level certified and 18 years of age to participate in the contest.

For over 50 years Sport Chalet has been selling and renting top-of-the-line scuba equipment as well as certifying divers not just in basics but also in a multitude of specialties. Of Sport Chalet's 55 stores, 33 have on-site pools for scuba training. Sport Chalet offers customers the opportunity to experience the sport for free on the third Saturday of every month with the "Discover Scuba" clinic.

"We are your local experts with access to the exotic underwater world of scuba, and for a limited time an adventure with treasure," said Sport Chalet Scuba Account Buyer Jennifer Zavat.
